How to allow your browser access to your camera

Sometimes websites will ask to use your camera to help make connections with other people feel more natural and meaningful. This article will walk you through enabling your camera and how to enable it if it's not.

 

How to allow camera access for the first time

When you visit the site for the first time. Your browser will prompt you if you would like to allow to use your camera.

Google Chrome

The prompt will appear under the URL bar. To allow the camera hit Allow

The prompt will appear under the URL bar. To allow the camera hit Allow

The prompt will appear under the URL bar. To allow the camera hit Allow

How to change camera settings to enable camera access

If your browser is not detecting your camera and you do not see the popup to allow your camera. You can change your browser settings to allow your camera to be used.

 

Note: The camera Icon will only appear if a site is currently trying to use your camera. If you don't see it click on the Lock icon, find the Camera Icon, and set it to Ask or Enable.

 

Google Chrome

1. Click on the Camera Icon on the right side of the top URL bar

2. Click on Always allow (URL) to access your camera.

3. Click on the blue Done button
