Mobile App FAQ

If your event offers a mobile app, you can easily install and use it to navigate the event, whether you’re attending in person or remotely -- or even a little of both, like if you want to watch the keynote while lounging by the hotel pool!

Is the app supported on my phone?
The mobile app is supported on all current Android and iOS devices.

How do I install the app on my mobile device?
If your event is using the app, the first time you log in to the event site you will be asked if you want to install the mobile app. This will occur for both Android and iOS devices.

On an iPhone or other iOS device:

  1. Click or tap the Share button.
  2. Follow the three steps shown on the page to install the web app.

On an Android phone or device:

  1. Click or tap Install Now.
  2. Follow the prompts to install the app.

If you have already logged in before and did not install the mobile app, you are still able to add it at a later time.

On an iPhone or other iOS device:

  1. Click or tap the Share button.
  2. Select “Add to Home Screen”

On an Android phone or device:

  1. Click or tap the app icon.
  2. Follow the prompts to install the app.

Is the Event Cloud app a native app via an app store?
No, the event app is easy to install directly from the event website itself. This allows us to keep it synchronized with the event website without having to constantly update an app store item. It also means we can be fully browser-based and compatible with any device that uses a standard mobile browser.

Is the app secure?
Event Cloud takes data security very seriously. All pages use the secure HTTPS protocol, and Event Cloud is SOC2 certified which requires a regular audit of our security measures.

How do I open the app?
Tap the icon on your device’s desktop. If it’s the first time opening it, log in using your event username and password. Once you’re logged in, the app should remember you, although you may be asked to log in again after some time has passed.

How do I navigate to a session/meeting/community member using the app?
The good news is that the mobile app works exactly as the website works in a standard browser. Navigation is intuitive and uses the same menu options you’re already used to if you’ve attended an event using your browser. Simply click the three bars to access the main navigation menu and use filters to search for whatever you seek.

Can the app show me everything about the event in one place, whether a session is in-person, virtual, or hybrid?
Yes, the mobile app offers "one-stop-shopping" for everything related to the event, whether it's happening in person or online, or both.

Can I watch videos/chat/earn points for the leaderboard in the app?
Yes, all features of the event website are available from the app.

Can I see a map of my event location (for in-person events)?
If your event admin has uploaded a map image, you can browse it from the app. Note that an interactive location map is in development and planned for a later release.

Will I get phone/device notifications from the app?
There are two types of notifications:

  • In-app notifications are sent out by the event admin, and when you are in the app, you’ll always get these notifications. All platforms (desktop, iOs, and Android devices) support in-app notifications.

  • Device notifications are notifications on your phone alerting you to something in the app, and when you tap the notification it opens the app. Those are something you can choose to opt in or out of depending on your preference. Device notifications are supported on desktop and Android devices but are not supported on iOS mobile devices such as an iPhone.
